Bavaria's biggest festival meets the final table.

Live music between hands, a stein-shaped bad-beat jackpot, and a dealer who calls “Prost” on every flopped set. This is the beer-tent energy of Oktoberfest, brought straight to the felt.

Know the ranking, know the range.

Two things separate a confident player from a guessing one: knowing which hand wins at showdown, and knowing which hands are worth playing before the flop. Both are below.

Hand rankings, strongest to weakest

  1. Royal Flush — A, K, Q, J, 10, one suit
  2. Straight Flush — five in a row, one suit
  3. Four of a Kind — four cards of the same rank
  4. Full House — three of a kind plus a pair
  5. Flush — five cards of one suit, any order
  6. Straight — five in a row, mixed suits
  7. Three of a Kind — three cards of the same rank
  8. Two Pair — two separate pairs
  9. One Pair — two cards of the same rank
  10. High Card — no pair or better; highest card plays

Starting-hand chart (Texas Hold'em, full ring)

Find your two cards on the grid. Pairs run down the diagonal, suited hands sit above it, offsuit hands sit below. This is a simplified opening guide, not a solved range — tighten up out of position and against aggression.

Premium — raise from any position Strong — raise or call in most spots Speculative — play in position or suited Fold in most spots
Position matters as much as the cards themselves: a hand worth raising on the button is often a fold three seats earlier. Stack depth, table aggression, and how many players have already entered the pot should all adjust the chart above — treat it as a starting point for new players, not a rulebook.
